Mabon

I LOVE this setting found on Thoughtco.com
The Autumn Equinox, or Mabon (pronounced May-bon, May-bun, Mah-bon or Mah-bawn) occurs here in the Southern Hemisphere around the 20th of March.

This is the time of year when day and night are equal and we celebrate the coming dark of Winter, give thanks to the sunlight as it prepares to descend and prepare or store out harvest from the crops of the year.

In Druidic traditions Mabon is known as "Mea'n Fo'mhair" and the Green Man is honored as the God of the Forest. Wiccan traditions include celebrating the Mother Goddess as she transitions from Mother to Crone, along with the Father God as he prepares for death and re-birth over the coming months.

Mabon is also known as the Second Harvest and often referred to in the Northern Hemisphere as Cornucopia.
Mabon Altar, found on Pinterest
Mabon Altars are adorned with fall leaves and colours of gold, brown, orange, yellow, red and olive green. Vines, grapes, pinecones, corn, apples, pomegranates, seeds and wine are traditionally used to decorate the Altar and Sacred Space. You may also like to include the first fruits and flowers of the Season, and/or the last of Summer.

Rituals and Spell work to do with letting go, completion and balance including working to create balance within your own self and in all aspects of your life. It is also a time of giving thanks for all you have and are yet to receive.
